Today is our last full day at the River Dart centre. We have an exciting day ahead of canoeing, kayaking, crates and zip wire. Followed by an evening of shelter build and a campfire, a perfect way to end a fantastic day. I am still taking lots of photos which will be up on the website on our return.
A great morning session despite the torrential rain! Groups 1 and 2 took to the lake for some canoeing and kayaking, groups 3 and 4 did the zip wire and the crates task. From group 4 George, Theo and Mrs Barnes managed the highest tower of crates, closely followed by Evie and Ella. Now it's a warm shower before lunch that's needed, then hopefully the rain will stop ready for the swap over this afternoon.
A fun filled afternoon was had by all (especially the children who managed to tip Mrs Barnes out of the canoe). For our final evening we built shelters in the forest, then toasted marshmallows by a campfire. Mrs Chipperfield would be very proud to know that the children sang "ain't no mountain high enough" around the campfire. A fantastic way to end a really wonderful week where friendships have been cemented and teams have worked together as units. Myself and the other members of staff are very proud of the children and how they have encouraged and helped one another.
